Metal’s malleable and receptive characteristics make it very inviting to
work with. The essences of the minerals are then expressed in the colors
of the material and felt in the weight of the metal.

Melissa Mather’s metalwork pieces are inspired from building motifs seen
on travels, photographed textures, and structural ideas in architecture.

From design conception to completed piece the proportions and the
position on the human body and balance of the finished piece are always
considered.
